Overview

An exceptionally rare Brighton & Hove Albion match worn shirt worn by club legend Charlie Oatway during the away fixture against Stoke City on 5 March 2005.

Already highly desirable due to the iconic Palookaville sponsorship associated with Brighton musician Fatboy Slim, this particular shirt is made even rarer by the inclusion of the special Alive & Kicking charity logo on the reverse. The logo was worn exclusively for this fixture, creating a unique one match variant that is virtually impossible to find today.

This is not simply a match worn Brighton shirt, it is a genuine piece of Albion history from one of the club's most memorable eras.

The Story

Charlie Oatway remains one of the most iconic figures in Brighton & Hove Albion's modern history. A leader on and off the pitch, he became synonymous with the club's rise during one of the most important periods in its existence.

This shirt was worn during Brighton's Championship campaign away at Stoke City on 5 March 2005. Featuring the famous Palookaville sponsorship, it represents one of the most collectable sponsorship eras in Brighton history. Palookaville was the title of an album released by Brighton's own Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, creating a unique link between the football club and one of the city's most famous musical exports.

What elevates this shirt further is the presence of the Alive & Kicking charity logo on the reverse. The logo was only worn for this particular fixture, creating an exceptionally rare match specific variation that differs from standard issue shirts from the season.

The combination of Charlie Oatway, the Fatboy Slim linked Palookaville sponsorship, match worn provenance and a one game charity application makes this one of the most unusual and desirable Brighton shirts to surface on the collectors market.
